Jim Ryan, President & CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, has today announced in PlayStation Blog that the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of the PlayStation 5 will be increased in certain regions across the world (including Australia) due to the global economic environment.
Both editions of the PlayStation 5 console will cost approximately $50 more than the initial RRP. The PlayStation 5 which was released just under 2 years ago has been a victim to the global pandemic with supply issues since launch.
Here are the new prices in Australia:
PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – AUD $799.95
PS5 Digital Edition – AUD $649.95
There will be no price increase in the United States.
