The Last of Us is set 20 years after the Cordyceps fungal infection has taken over the world. We join Joel, a smuggler who has the dangerous task of escorting 14-year old Ellie across a ravaged and dishevelled United States. On their journey they encounter many hardships, hunters and of course – the infected.

Cast
The show is developed and written by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Neil Druckmann (Co-president, Naughty Dog) and stars Pedro Pascal as Joel (The Mandalorian), Bella Ramsey as Ellie (Game of Thrones), Gabriel Luna as Tommy (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Merle Dandridge reprising her role as Marlene, Anna Torv as Tess (Fringe) and Nick Offerman as Bill (Parks and Recreation). Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who portrayed Joel and Ellie in the video games, will also be starring in the show with undisclosed roles.

First Impressions
The show looks to stay true to the tone of the video games, with dreary landscapes, familiar locations, and tense-filled environments. We got a first look at Clickers in the trailer, and they look as terrifying as ever. I always gets hesitant when video games are made into tv shows or films, but any doubts I had before watching this trailer was squashed.
